9to5

posted 30 August 2009, Sunday
D:

Saw this documentary called 9to5: Days in Porn. It was just sad. And I'm not used to it. I mean, hello, fucking is fucking, but the porn industry provides endless possibilities. It's either they're twisted, or their viewers are, because why would they do such films if there is no demand? I have to admit, I thought I would be strong enough to watch it because hey, it's porn. It's not like I've not seen pornography before. But yes, my definition of pornography is a personal one, not something I've researched on or what. I pick what I want to see and what I could pass up. There are many times I just had to look away. It could be because I've never thought such a sexual act exists all along (or could have been made up by these porn filmmakers, how should I know) and/or I'm uncomfortable and unfamiliar with what is happening.

Oh and I bet these porn stars don't even watch their own films because the fantasy they portray in their own films aren't theirs to begin with.

I'm glad that a retired porn actress like Sharon Mitchell has come up with something useful out of her knowledge in the business. She has set up AIM Healthcare Foundation, the AIM stands for Adult Industry Medical. It strives to take care of and educate sex workers. The adult industry is all sorts of crazy and it is best to seek professional help regularly. This two videos about Porn that they have posted on their website might be of interest to you not entirely because you'd probably want to make it in the porn industry someday but because it's still about sex in the end, and sex is part of human life: Porn 101 | Porn 102.

This movie has changed the way I look at porn stars. I still don't think favorably of them because I believe they can find other work that ok, can provide less though will not damage them emotionally which is the important part, but at least I don't have a stereotype in mind anymore: blonde, scatterbrained, and loud. (I keep forgetting the porn actors. Well my stereotype is mid-20s, clean shaven, muscular, not like Otto Bauer.)
