College (2008)

saw this film called college starring drake bell. i only watched this because of him and kevin covais, not gonna lie. the movie dragged and i wanted it to end so soon. i don't know why they even made this film and put drake bell in the cast when i dont think he's willing to go all out on the nasty, if you know what im saying. and since he played the good guy, i wish they made his personality influence his character. i noticed that his laugh is quite adorable even if it doesn't sound manly (check the behind the scene footages). maybe they could have incorporated his quirks in the film so that dorks like him could relate to it. i mean, hey, this movie was made for them, right? ugh. kevin covais, chicken little from american idol, was a surprise to me. his facial expressions and voice projection need work but the fact that he can drink body shots from a disgusting frat boy with moobs and body hair won me over, i think. i guess with a few acting classes, he can really be a charming actor who can be cast as an underdog. the fat guy is always a default character in a college movie like this, i dont even think it still comes as a surprise, but yeah there was a lead fat guy here and he isn't as fun as the real actor based on the impression i got from watching the blooper reel. OH college wasn't portrayed here appropriately. and it was definitely not the "best. weekend. ever." seriously those periods in that phrase are a waste. you only use THE periods if what you are saying is like the ultimate, the extreme, the fuck-you-should-see-this kind of thing, but ive seen better and more enjoyable college flicks. and i usually find the frat boys in movies kind of attractive, some are douche bags but still attractive. in this film, however, i found no one from the fraternity interesting. paper dolls look more dimensional than these boring dickheads. i really wish filmmakers release quality college movies, smart ones, you know. you don't go to college to become dumb, correct? i would understand if the story was about some slumber party gone wrong then yes it would be very shallow, stupidity accepted, but the name of this film is "college" which is a big word for this moronic endeavor. don't waste your money on this unless you just want to see drake bell's emo hair which looked great even when he was dumped in the mud.
