Danny Noriega!
AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH I just know that sooner or later I will write something about this kid Danny Noriega. Kid, because he's younger than me, and even if I'm a fan, I never ever thought of him as a prospect, like, wot? Not that I'm saying he's not hot because he is.
To be honest, I wasn't able to follow American Idol so damn well. I was only able to watch a few audition episodes + a few Hollywood week performances + Top blah-blah performances. Anyway, I was lucky enough to watch Renaldo Lapuz on TV (THAT WAS AWESOME) but I wasn't able to watch Danny Noriega. Thank goodness for YouTube.
The first time I've heard of him is through Rickey.org. His photo was posted together with Ramiele's Malubay. And it was confirmed in the show that Ramiele is Filipino so I was like, this guy is also Filipino? Probably, because he kinda looks Asian. Look at his razor sharp hair, hah. (But he's LATINO!!!) I checked his MySpace and I thought his photo there is vain, so I didn't really pay much attention to him.
I heard people talking about him though so I checked out YouTube and saw his audition of Proud Mary, and it was teh awesum!! I swear, it's one of the best auditions I've heard from American Idol. I'm no singing expert but will somebody agree with me that he has this teeny weeny problem with singing? He adds a short "AH!" at the end of a word, like "Left a good job in the city-AH!" or "Rolling-AH!" It can be compared to David Archuleta's habit of licking his lips or gasping like it's his last breath while singing, but David got it worse, of course. Danny's voice is great but that's one thing I did notice. Anyway he seems pretty adorable. I decided to look for another video to watch that time. I saw a tribute video and man, this boy is a freakin cam whore!! He's holding flowers?? Are you kidding me??? LOL
I barely saw his Jailhouse Rock performance. I pretty much predicted that it was going to be a bad performance just because people who usually cover Elvis Presley in singing contests like this are cursed and will always suffer the major comparison, so yeah I have never seen the full performance at all. (Recently Danny admitted that he is embarrassed by this performance. Just what I thought. Singing a cover of the king either will make or break you. Either you were hot, or get the f*ck out.) In screen caps though, he looks hawt. I first heard him sing Superstar on MP3 and it wasn't that bad like how the judges described it. I guess he was just holding back. But when he sang Tainted Love, OMG. No words.
This boy makes me happy for the simple things in life, I have to say. He's got a very loving and supportive family and he values his friendships a lot. I think that's something you can admire about him. Forget that Christmas video he did. He was just acting that time. It obviously was made way back. I mean, come on, did you see the lip ring and the hair color plus the plucked eyebrows?? Besides, if you look harder, you will find some information about his old videos. It's pretty sad that he had to remove his old videos.. Did you know that he recorded a video of himself singing "A Song For You"? Ugh, but now it's gone. :( Oh and what's the deal with him being gay? Does being gay affect his voice at all? I don't think so.
And I think Danny is smart and he's playing his cards right. He wants attention; now he's got it. Did you see him on Ellen, did you, did you, did you????? He was eh-may-zing!!! I hope he continues to play his cards the way he is doing so now because I want to buy his album, haha. Well, he said he's going to record one soon!! I guess the plan, whatever it is, is working. :D
I flood on this site BTW: http://danny_bois.livejournal.com. Whew! This is the only place I talk about Danny. I think it's harder to keep up if I post in a forum because the pages in the thread pile up and if I go away for some time, I'd find tons of pages to read when I get back. But LiveJournal, the essentials are already there on the front page. It's my call if I want to read the comments or not. It's much more organized with the tags and all, I guess. Just a thought.
If ever Danny finds this entry (maybe he will, maybe he won't. I'm not keeping my hopes high.), then HELLO THAR, MISTER. Give your seksi danny_bois bitches a big shoutout, hun.
