Getting sick

OK this will be an entry with no direction. It figures because it's a Life Update. My life has no direction. Har har.

So I caught a viral infection. I woke up a few days ago with a sore throat. It's that kind of sore throat you get when your mouth is opened for a long time while sleeping. I don't even have an idea if I sleep with my mouth open (I don't snore though. My orgmate once said I did when she caught me sleeping backstage during production rehearsals but perhaps it was because I was soooooo tired and in a bad sleeping position.) So I was like, oh boy, I have an idea what this means: I'll get sick. Later in the day, I had colds and even had a slight fever. Then the next day, I was coughing like I was asking for a fight (It was that bad!) and my throat was very dry. I think my throat even bled a little when I tried to cough things out because it was getting uncomfortable. Oh crap.

Yesterday I woke up and had it worse. I called in sick for work and decided to sleep the whole morning. Bed rest definitely helped a lot. I needed a medical certificate the day I go back to work. I was enjoying my rest day though so I was lazy to go to the doctor right away. I had to go to the gym that night (I called in sick but I had to go the gym? Is there something wrong with this picture? I'm just saying.) so I figured I could drop by the hospital to have a check-up then go straight to the gym afterwards.

I rode a cab, but the cab driver took me to the wrong hospital and it was too late when I realized it. It was okay though because it was also another hospital I go to but I barely go there to get medical certificates. So I went to the emergency room and was expecting speedy assistance because I mean, c'mon, it's an emergency room. Even if my condition wasn't an emergency, the people at the front desk told me to go to the emergency room for assistance so I did go there. But lo and behold, when I got inside, there was an old woman on a bed and there were life support stuff thing machine whatevers around the bed and all the attention of all the ER dudes and dudettes were on this woman. And I was sitting in the corner, and I was like, hi can somebody please talk to me? I'm right here... But no one was paying attention! I know it was really important for the old woman to be attended to, but are the nurses there the only ones on duty? I was kind of thinking, OK my case isn't that bad but if you really want to pay more attention to the old woman, why don't you put that stethoscope against my chest right away, just pretend you heard nothing wrong when I start breathing for the stethoscope, then write some silly chicken scratch-like notes on your paper, then write me a medical certificate and send me off? You can even bill me right away without you asking me to go to the cashier, I'd willingly pay you on the spot! Let's get this over and done with! But no, I really had to get someone's attention in the room, and she was like, I'm just passing by. Do you mind if you wait a little? Because there's a situation here. I was about to say YES I DO MIND and THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS but I'm not really like that in person so I said, it's OK I'll just wait. I was getting annoyed already, I know it kinda sounds inconsiderate, but it was probably my raging hormones (it doesn't help that I got sick and had my period at the same time.) that made me think that I wanted the old woman to die right there and then so that the nurses could just discard her body in the trash can or in the bushes. Don't laugh, it's a bad joke, that was an evil thought, let me shampoo now with holy water.

So I stomped my way out of the hospital. It rained a few hours ago so the streets were wet and muddy. I was wearing my tube socks and shorts so by the time I got to another hospital (the one I intended to go to in the first place), my legs and socks had splat marks all over of mud and other substances you can probably find from canals. It was quite a walk, around 20 minutes and it was really uncomfortable walking like that when you're next to the high way. But oh well, I also had to wait at the other hospital, but at least someone was assisting me. I also had this fascination with the doctor who I consulted. He didn't look scary; in fact he looked... aight... friendly... cute? I don't know. I don't really fall for regular old men, and by regular, I meant non-celebs. And what I meant by that is I don't check out older men who I just see on the streets or anywhere else in the real world. But celebrities who I like and are older than me, I drool when I see them in the news, on magazines and everything else media-related. I don't know why in real life I fall for immature f*cks. Well, maybe because like attracts like? Haha.

Oh by the way, thanks Lester for being nice to leave me a comment like that in the emo entry I wrote a few days ago. I was just drained. Oh and to Kuya Manny as well. Please tell me if you find me annoying already. AHAHA.
