Let me write down my own mistakes.
- I thought that blogging frequency should only be limited to one post per day. I was thinking of maximizing the space of the blog entry. But as I have read other blogs, I learned that this shouldn't be the case. I can post many entries a day; short, long, effing long... each post with a focus. It doesn't bug me though because my blog started out as a journal and you know how personal journals go. Now this blog is... it's... it's... what is my focus? I DON'T KNOW!!
- I should have registered a domain name for my blog for easy URL recall. I didn't do so because first, it didn't matter to me. Second, I have to pay online. I didn't have a credit card and I'm really not comfortable with online purchasing. And even if I start now, I have been blogging for more than 3 years now and readers have already settled with my current URL.
- TAGS. I should have written the tags by the time I started blogging. As the name suggests, a tag marks the entry and it makes it easier for readers to search your blog. Now, when I finish with the tags, I will have to deal with categories which will come in later when this site goes premium. Double trouble!
- Better titles. Since I didn't have much focus on my blog entries, my titles are a mess as well. They frequently don't say much about the content of my entries, and sometimes I even put things there that are not related to the topic of my entries at all! At the same time, I shouldn't be editing the URL of each blog entry anymore because it will help in searching if the original title is on the URL. But I still edit it. And I will continue doing so because I'm stubborn.
- I have a newbie post that goes "Wow this is my first time!" People consider it a blogging mistake especially if you are concentrating on a theme for your whole blog, but since this is a personal site, that's aight with me.
- Links. I seriously lack links on my posts, especially when I talk about stuff I saw from the Internet. I forgot to cite sources before as well. Damn.
If there are more mistakes I did, I'll post them here next time.
