lol i just tried the pm workout of david carradine's am & pm tai chi workout and it was alright. at first i cracked up at the sight of david carradine in the video. his voice is nice, very appropriate for the workout however i couldn't seem to get past his lizzie mcguire appearance. that episode was actually fun! i had a strange feeling back then that david and the guy who played lizzie's father are related because i was fond of the opening credits of the show, and i kept seeing that actor's name: robert carradine. haha well they're actually half brothers!
anyway, for beginners, i'll assume that you'll crack up because of the why-so-serious tai chi stances and all but i dare you to concentrate. tai chi poses are very controlled yet look graceful and if you just keep laughing like a hyena during the session, you'll never get anywhere!
the look of the video is really old since it was released in the '90s but the content is still relevant. what i find ridiculous though is that i saw david carradine at the beginning of the video, but i didn't see him close the show. it was this guy who was in the background that closed it by showing off a combination of poses. his name is arnold tayam and he was actually the one who choreographed everything! i didn't expect that! well i just thought that since david carradine's name is on the product, he might as well be at the end of the video, you know.
i was able to follow the basic stances but i got lost at the combinations. some of the camera shots were bad because the feet of the people in the demo were not shown at times. what the hell. if you are a beginner, how can you follow that, huh? and im not even a beginner to start with! i appreciate the extra shots they inserted though of a man (it's probably arnold tayam) doing the same moves but his back is turned so you can copy what he's doing.and lol at the imaginary ball of qi they were holding. there were special effects added in so you can see the ball! lol
like i said, ive only tried the pm workout. i wonder if the am workout is good. i still dont have the time in the morning to do it though.
hey thats so cool! so are you getting the hang of tai chi?
i have only done taichi once in my room pero i used to do it when i used to
